To build a society which fulfills all fundamental rights of the deprived people where Social justice, peace, harmony and ecological balance prevails.
Ensure a qualitative achievement of women’s equal right, establishment of her dignity and empowerment through their own participation towards a democratic society.
Ensuring participation of both men and women for promoting Democracy, Human rights and establishes a situation of socio-economic and cultural justice for achieving a sustainable democratic society.
 
In order to pursue our mission, a space free from human poverty in any form, a space free from domestic violence, we have to work with formal and informal institutions , groups and individuals of different mentality and ideology in this metropolitan city area of Chittagong , Bangladesh.

To work against patriarchy in many forms, various challenges (inside and outside of OWDEB ) are always our friends whose key points are :
Chittagong , a metropolitan port city
More effect of globalization in working areas
Conservative attitude of majority people
Conservative attitude about women’s mobility
Less social security at each areas
Less respect to Human rights
A weak civil legal system
Civil society is less responsible
Less trust on overall NGOs
A more competitive life and livelihood
Migrated population with different culture
Ultra poor to ultra rich stakeholders – a big financial gap
Terrorism ( local mastan to law regulatory system )
Slum eviction
Fundamentalist group in many form
People love service oriented activities
Less interest about advocacy /dialogue
Religious believes
DV as a personal matter
No legal support for victim, less services
No counseling centre or safe place to turn for deprived women even in OWDEB
OWDEB can not ensure victims privacy and confidentiality due to lack of service centre
No mental health care system in family or society
Local power structure controlling mechanism
People`s believes and attitude against DV
Govt. Hospital and nursing home are silent about women victims
Less man power of OWDEB
OWDEB’s location is far from Dhaka and also not so much regular touch with DONOR forum like others NGO of North Bengal and Dhaka
Less opportunity about electronic devices
Less support for increasing Organizational capacity
Irregular fund flow
Our young Girls co-workers and gender sensitivity
Change makers desire
local NGOs demands and desire in case joined collaboration , network during Campaign which OWDEB can not meet
Our vision , mission itself a challenge against corruption and state attitude
Man and muscle – a dominating factor against our women’s movement
OWDEB as a minority (by religion) women led institution
without credit program in urban area
Less fund/support
Strategically OWDEB location importance for this south region but a limited financial capacity though a good human resource of OWDEB is useful to network /development program – a critical contrast
Our cultural activities focusing human rights discrimination
Everywhere from NGO bureau to TNO office – bribe system
Our voice for equal property rights for all citizen
Cost of Daily life (movement and communication and all others ) in Chittagong - metropolitan city is so high
Staffs need more skill
No people oriented mechanism for new women/ men leadership at community level against VAW
 
So many challenges are our daily experience , and OWDEB’s LONG MARCH from street to street, door to door , one market place to another market place , institution to another institution learn us the way of work taking more challenges to eliminate Human rights discrimination from inside and outside of family and society.

We want to initiate a new way through our cultural activities, by our knowledge , taking support of our hundreds Change Makers in our working area but Chittagong is such a strategically important but very much conservative place especially in the women issue , we need more support for more work against Domestic violence and other discriminations.

We are trying to form a new alliance with same mentalities NGOs, CBOs in Greater Chittagong to make us more capable but we need more support from our friend.

We believe that a mutual trust OWDEB will make more opportunity for OWDEB to work for a better society and for sustainability of socio-culture based Approach of OWDEB .
